What is IITM Pravartak?
IITM Pravartak is the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Madras — funded by the Department of Science and Technology under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS). It focuses specifically on Sensors, Networking, Actuators, and Control Systems (SNACS) research, with a strong AI and data science dimension. Programs from IITM Pravartak carry the IIT Madras institutional credibility — NIRF #1 in India — with a research-led curriculum.
Three programs available
1. Executive Certification in Advanced Data Science & Applications (10 months)
The most comprehensive program — 10 months, covering deep learning, neural networks, AI, TensorFlow, PyTorch and advanced analytics. Designed for professionals with engineering or technical backgrounds. Fee: ~₹2L + GST. Eligibility: Graduate/engineering degree, 3 years experience, preferably in software or engineering.
2. Advanced Certificate in ML, GenAI & LLMs for Business Applications (~8 months)
Specifically designed for professionals targeting AI-powered business transformation. Covers foundational ML, generative AI systems, LLMs, and enterprise AI applications. More accessible than the 10-month program — open to both technical and business professionals. Fee: ~₹1.5L + GST.
3. Advanced Data Science Certificate (with Rotman School, University of Toronto) (~6 months)
The only program with a joint IIT + global university credential. Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto is globally ranked. This interdisciplinary program combines IITM Pravartak's technical data science curriculum with Rotman's business analytics perspective. Fee: ₹1,61,000 + GST — the most affordable program of the three with the strongest global credential.
